The McColl History
McColl Cabinetmakers was founded by original owner Gary McColl back in 1993. Initially operating as a one-man business out of a backyard shed, McColl Cabinetmakers quickly began servicing a steady stream of clients in the Ipswich, Brisbane and Gold Coast regions. In 2003, Gary was joined by Corey Cameron, a qualified local cabinetmaker with a particular focus on delivering exceptional kitchen and bathroom designs. Corey helped grow the business into a fully-fledged bathroom and kitchen remodelling company before eventually taking over ownership in 2016
While still retaining the warmth and personal service of a family-owned small business, McColl Cabinetmakers has today grown into a renowned kitchen and bathroom renovation company. In addition to being Registered Building Practitioners, we’re also members of the Housing Industry Association and fully insured for all kinds of kitchen and bathroom renovations in Queensland.
The McColl People
From its earliest beginnings as a one-man operation, McColl Cabinetmakers has developed into a thriving business employing 18 staff. One of the things that really sets McColl Cabinetmakers apart is our commitment to hiring the most talented and experienced cabinetmakers in the business. Owner Corey Cameron (himself a qualified cabinetmaker with over 20 years of industry experience) is joined by many long-time staff who have been working with McColl for over 10 years (and working in the industry for 20+ years).
The entire McColl team understands that renovating can be a stressful process for some homeowners. Because of this, every one of our employees is committed to creating a rewarding client experience that is as streamlined and hassle-free as possible. To that end, our core group of employees has helped to develop a series of internal systems and processes to improve the customer experience, from the initial quote right through to the completed project.
We also support local apprentices who are looking to hone their skills and develop the art of cabinetmaking. By teaming apprentices up with experienced and qualified cabinetmakers, we’re helping young people in the industry become proficient in all aspects of cabinetmaking. As a small business operating in the construction industry, we’re proud to be playing a part in training the next generation of Brisbane cabinetmakers.

The McColl Factory
McColl Cabinetmakers may have started life in a backyard shed, but we’ve well and truly grown since then! We now operate out of a state-of-the-art 600 m2 factory in Raceview (less than 10 minutes from the Ipswich CBD). At the rate our business is currently expanding, we’re anticipating a move to even bigger premises within the next couple of years.
Our factory is fitted with advanced machinery for creating custom made cabinets, including a full auto-load and auto-label CNC machine. Not often seen in the small business space, a CNC machine is designed to improve the quality and production time of custom manufactured cabinetry. Traditionally, custom made cabinets required a great deal of time and labour. Naturally, this drives up the costs associated with obtaining custom designed bathroom or kitchen cabinets. However, the technologically advanced CNC machine provides an innovative solution. Once configured, the machine delivers precision cuts and a superior finished product in a fraction of the time. This means that McColl Cabinetmakers can create high-quality, custom-designed cabinetry to suit your needs and style…without blowing your budget.
The McColl Showroom
While McColl Cabinetmakers have always boasted a showroom, the scale and range have developed significantly over the years. Our latest showroom was recently refurbished to deliver an enhanced experience for clients seeking inspiration for kitchen and bathroom renovations. When visiting the McColl Cabinetmakers showroom, you’ll get the opportunity to examine the latest in materials, hardware, finishes and accessories. You’ll also have the undivided attention of one of our design team experts, who’ll be more than happy to guide you through the process and answer any questions that you may have. Our extensive range of showroom products ensures you’ll be able to find finishes and accessories to suit your budget and style.
The McColl Experience
The McColl experience usually begins when you meet with a talented member of our design team during your showroom appointment. You’ll be able to discuss what you’re hoping to accomplish from the renovation, view product samples and receive expert answers to all your questions. This will be followed up by an in-home consultation, a visit that allows your renovation design to be fully customised for the needs of your family. This in-home visit will also allow us to accurately assess the site and start compiling a detailed scope of works for the proposed project. Once the details are finalised, you’ll receive a comprehensive written quote.
While some homeowners prefer to organise their own trades, most of our clients are happy to leave this in the capable hands of our Project Manager. Project management forms an integral part of any successful construction project – which is why we don’t believe in charging extra for this vital service. Your Project Manager will handle scheduling, organising the delivery of materials and the management of all the necessary trades. In other words, they’ll keep your project running smoothly and ensure the completed renovation meets our high quality-control standards.

No one wants a kitchen or bathroom renovation that looks fantastic for 6-12 months and then starts falling apart!
