6 Space-Saving Design Ideas for Small Bathrooms

Small bathrooms can be a challenge at the best of times but when it comes to wanting to renovate you’ll face a new set of challenges. It’s been likened to doing a giant crossword puzzle, trying to get everything to fit just right in the smallest amount of space.

Here at McColl Cabinetmakers, we are experts at space saving, which is why we’ve put together these space-saving design ideas to help you with your next bathroom renovation.

1. Floating vanities

Floating vanities are making waves as one of the top design trends for 2021. Not only does it help your bathroom look visually bigger but it also frees up more space under the vanity for more storage items.

2. Large patterns

Large patterns on tiles such as wide stripes will help trick the naked eye into seeing more space, creating a bigger feel to your bathroom.

3. Forget the shower door

Having a shower door seems like a necessity, right? Wrong. Many bathrooms are opting for single glass panel showers instead of installing a door. This will still keep in most of the water but frees up elbow room when showering and opening the bathroom door.

4. Oversized mirrors

When it comes to mirrors, think big! Even in the smallest of spaces, having a large mirror will create an illusion of more space.

5. Position of the towel rail

Don’t worry about having a dedicated towel rail area. You can simply mount the towel rail on the door or use hooks instead.

6. Vanities with shelving

Select a vanity that includes one shelf as this will allow you to store towels or even a basket for toilet paper.
